Housing Miscellaneous Fees & Costs

If Housing and Residence Life (HRL) finds damage or other maintenance required after move out, residents may be charged.

Residents are expected to leave their room in the same condition as when they moved in. At move-in, residents are provided the chance to complete a Room Condition Report to communicate any damages and the condition of the unit.  

Upon checkout, Housing and Residence Life professional staff will inspect the space. If any damage is found, HRL will take the following actions:

  • Issues will first be compared to the Room Condition Report on file to determine if they were pre-existing. 
  • Any repairs caused by intentional damage or lack of cleaning will be charged to a student's account. 
  • Vandalism may also be reported to the Office of Student Accountability and Restorative Practices.
