    The StarTUp collaborates with community partners to build programs for greater Baltimore’s youth. Our youth entrepreneurship education extends beyond tools and technologies. We offer a hands-on experiential based curriculum that provides a purposeful learning experience that encourages student agency to pursue passion and to build transferable skills. 

    High school corporate internships 

    The StarTUp partners with Cristo Rey Jesuit High School as a Corporate Internship Partner, providing a dynamic three-week program that integrates academic theory with real-world insights. This program leverages a non-traditional approach to teaching entrepreneurship and provides students a stepping stone to launching their innovation journey. Through this program, over 150 Cristo Rey students have been exposed to entrepreneurship with most of them building lasting bonds with Towson University faculty and staff. 

    How TU students can get involved 

    Towson University students play a crucial role in our youth entrepreneurship programing. They serve as instructors, team leaders and mentors to youth in our programs. We focus on an interdisciplinary approach by hiring student ambassadors from all seven TU colleges to support initiatives at the StarTUp at the Armory, including youth entrepreneurship programming.

    Baltimore Youth Innovation Coalition

    Baltimore is a hub for youth innovation and the StarTUp aims to support this through our membership in the Baltimore Youth Innovation Coalition. The coalition brings together Baltimore-area youth innovation organizations with the goal of strengthening and sustaining a positive impact on the area’s youth. We represent college-aged youth with the goal of shedding light on the ways older youth can set a tone of collaboration and innovation within our community.

    School and organization engagement 

    Supporting local schools and youth-serving organizations is at the forefront of our youth entrepreneurship programming. The StarTUp offers engagement opportunities, including sponsorships, tours that include chats with our executive director about entrepreneurship, workshops and partner programming opportunities. .
