Trips to museums, historic homes and other places of interest in the Baltimore area and beyond provide additional learning experiences as well as social and cultural opportunities.

Penn Museum Day Trip

Queens, Warriors, and Archaeologists
The Penn Museum in Philadelphia, PA
Friday, October 10, 2025, 8 a.m.–5:30 p.m.

Join us for the upcoming trip to the Penn Museum in Philadelphia, where we’ll have a guided thematic tour on “Queens, Warriors, and Archaeologists.” Embark on a captivating journey through the hidden narratives of women across history. 

After the guided tour, explore other areas of interest in the museum and enjoy lunch on your own in the Museum Café.

Enjoy conversations over coffee and sweets between classes or eat with others during the lunchtime break to experience friends, new and old. Luncheons at area restaurants provide further opportunities for fun and enhancement of social relationships.

  • The Popular Fiction Book Club meets third Thursday of month, 10 a.m. when classes not in session.

  • The Literary Fiction Book Club meets fourth Tuesday of month, 10:30 a.m. when classes not in session. Meets at 2:30 p.m. when classes are in session.

  • The Mystery Book Club meets four Thursdays during the semester 1 p.m.

  • The Writing Group: “Writing Our Lives” meets weekly on Thursdays, 1–3 p.m. A facilitator-led memoir writing group that provides inspiration, encouragement, and feedback in a friendly setting. Please contact the facilitator for more information on upcoming group meetings.
